Scenario

Despite deploying a wide range of candidate attraction solutions, TempleBlu had failed for over 6 months to attract the relevant volume or quality of candidate to work out of its Bathroom Showroom in Reigate. TempleBlu had registered the role of “Sales Consultant” with several agencies and persistently attempted to use local, offline advertising but no avail. The combination of a low basic and challenging catchment area for potential candidates necessitated a rethink in candidate attraction strategy.

Solution

Hays Sales met with the MD of TempleBlu and suggested a multimedia candidate attraction plan with a twist. The role was advertised on a purpose built campaign site on hays.com, posted as a logo’d and branded advert across 7 external sites (including sites such as Total, Monster, Fish4, LondonJobs, HotOnline) and the search engine Google was set up to optimize candidates looking for sales roles to be directed to the opportunity on hays.com.

All candidates applied online and were requested to answer some basic skills / availability questions as part of the application process. All applicants were then stored in the Sales Direct back office which was then fully accessible to the client – this access then allowed the client to liaise directly with the candidates to telephone interview, arrange first interviews and gather references.

The back office store gave the client access to the candidate’s cv, application form and results to the scoreable application questions. This gave the client all the benefits of using Hays for its online advertising powers plus the convenience and efficiency of managing the applicants in a method that suited TempleBlu.

Result

The results were incredible with over 50 quality candidates applying and populating the client’s back office candidate management system. The campaign has allowed TempleBlu to shortlist and offer to two candidates. A client testimonial is attached which praises this innovative style of online recruitment and confirms their intention to use this method of recruitment for future sales roles.
