Case Study: Huntsman Tioxide
Scenario
Huntsman had a requirement for a Sales/Account Manager in Cambridgeshire to replace someone who was leaving the post at the end of this year.
They previously have had difficulty in filling this type of role as there is a need to travel abroad regularly and they preferably wanted someone who understood their industry.
Huntsman were working to a very tight budget and had previously found that agencies did not quite understand what they needed therefore did not often get the right candidates. This meant that the recruitment process became long and drawn out. Also, as the Sales Director was based in Sweden, it would be difficult to interview candidates regularly in the UK.
Solution
A Sales Direct Solution was agreed which included a Hays Multipost, filtering questions and full ‘Back Office’ access to manage all responses. This allowed Huntsman to view all CVs which meant that they had total control over the recruitment process from the beginning.
Having access to all responses was of benefit as they knew exactly what they were looking for and could spot the right candidates quickly themselves.
The filter questions were of great benefit also as whilst they wanted to view all CVs, they were concerned about wasting time viewing CVs that were clearly not suitable for the role.
The client could tell very quickly which candidates were worth considering for interview. Huntsman also really liked the ‘Back Office’ as they could manage all of the candidates in one central place by simply logging on to their own confidential account and contacting candidates using the suite of tools available.
Result
The best method for recruiting for this position was to go online as we agreed that the Internet is the best place to attract good quality sales professionals because the Internet is now the first place a candidate will look for a job.
We agreed to use 6 job boards to ensure we captured as many appropriate candidates as possible. The job boards used for this campaign were Guardian, Hotonline, Jobsite, Monster, Totaljobs and Salesvacancies.com as these were the sites that had been most successful previously.
Close to 60 candidates applied for the role across these sites and 7 were called for interview.
So far, Huntsman are very pleased with the responses they have had. The beauty of online advertising is it’s ability to amend and alter content of both the advertisement and the filter questions. This campaign required tweaking in it’s early stages which resulted in responses improving in both quality and quantity.
