Scenario

Geometric were planning to expand, but in order to successfully do so needed to recruit three field sales consultants for three regions including: Scotland, Ireland and London. The sales director and managing director were growing tired interviewing candidates who just weren’t up to the high standard of calibre they were searching for. Geometric’s ideal candidate needed to have strong experience within the industry as well as being ambitious and self-motivated individuals capable of working from home.

Solution

The Sales Direct Model was the recommended product following an evaluation of the client’s needs. This included a web advert written by hays.com which, was posted onto a number of specialist, general and regional job boards. Initially Geometric were excited at the idea of online advertising, but were still a little concerned that the strategy would not work. They decided to proceed once they found Hays would be working closely with them to make sure advertising delivered a number of high quality candidates they could select from. Every CV and answer to the bespoke job specific questions was emailed to a central inbox, which was accessible by both the sales director and the managing director. Armed with this essential information Geometric were able to very quickly organise interviews.

Result

The first campaign produced 345 applications from which three offers were made. Geometric were very impressed with the service, quality and volume of candidates generated. Eight months later they approached us again and wanted to use the Sales Direct route to recruit another field sales person for the London area. The second campaign produced 101 applications with the vacancy being filled very swiftly. Geometric have decided not to go to a traditional recruitment agency for sales roles in the future, as they are under the impression that the number of candidates is limited to those on their books. Internet recruitment advertising allows companies to recruit a wider choice of people, attracting the bests from the marketplace.
