The Challenge

CredEcard is an established financial services company, who offer a variety of innovative solutions and products to both businesses and the consumer market. They are a wholly owned subsidiary of ID Data Group, Europe’s leading independent plastic card based solutions network.

The client was looking to recruit a business development manager to develop long-term client relationships and to enhance profitability for the firm. The nature of the role meant the ideal candidate needed to be comfortable in a fast paced, change-oriented culture. This position was entrepreneurial in nature requiring strong leadership, management, business and analytical skills. CredEcard were looking to place four people across the country but could not find enough high calibre applicants to satisfy the business’s needs. They decided that going down the traditional route of recruitment would be over budget and would not attract the right candidates. CredEcard thus approached Leigh at the Hays Direct team to discuss other potential methods of candidate attractions, after doing some research on the Internet.

Solution

The Hays Direct team suggested a tailor made campaign, targeting specific candidates across a particular geographical region using a Multipost. This consisted of posting the jobs on five external job boards and positioning it within the relevant channels on Hays.com. Candidates were also targeted directly by sending eshots to those registered on the Hays database and other external databases, inviting the candidates to apply for the role.

The Direct team also put together a bespoke online questionnaire, allowing candidates to be sifted before the interview stage. CredEcards received the bespoke online response management system allowing them to view the filtered candidates and their relevant scores as well as communicate with them to arrange the next step. All the candidates were automatically separated by geographical location, allowing CredEcards to view the CVs and applications they were looking for.

Result

CredEcards received 140 applications across the country, allowing them to interview and fill all four candidates across the country. They saved a total of £10,000 by using online candidate attraction strategies and said they would definitely use the solution in the future.
