Welcome

Welcome to our school and thank you for considering working with us ! I hope that as you read this webpage you get a flavour of our very special school. I have had the pleasure of leading Harehills Primary School since January 2004 and have really enjoyed working here. I am really proud of all that we have achieved in that time and look forward to our successful and rewarding future.

Harehills Primary School provides an oasis of calm in the heart of the city of Leeds. We are a thriving, vibrant and diverse community of learners and take children from the age of three until they leave us at eleven for high school.

We are a popular and successful school, which has grown in size over the past few years, and now has a three form intake of  90 pupils coming to us each September. We also have a new annex building which houses five classes from the upper school- it opened in September 2007.
We have just had a highly successful OFSTED inspection (October 2007) where all aspects of our work were graded ‘good’. OFSTED commented " the school has good quality leadership, good teaching and outstanding pastoral care " and " there is a very supportive atmosphere in school and a high level of team spirit ". We pride ourselves on our commitment to investing in diversity and colleagues are given every opportunity to develop their professional skills here by engaging in further training.

Our nursery and foundation unit are highly regarded locally and we ensure that the youngest children are supported through play to become independent learners. Our Foundation department runs a smooth transition until the end of year 1.

The team at Harehills prides itself on ensuring that every child matters and we work closely with our families to ensure that children feel happy, safe and secure in order to achieve the very best standards of learning. Ofsted noted that our children enjoy school and are  well behaved. We enjoy good support from their parents.
