About Wigston and Leicestershire
Guthlaxton College is located in Wigston, a suburb of Leicester in England. It is located four miles outside of the city boundary, forming part of the Oadby and Wigston district of Leicestershire.
Wigston benefits from easy access to the M1 and M69 Motorways and a railway station on the Birmingham to Peterborough line 3km south of Leicester Station. The school can be easily commuted to from Coventry, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire as well as from the wider County of Leicestershire and Rutland.
The County of Leicestershire offers open picturesque countryside, tiny hamlets and little villages built of local ironstone. It is home to attractions such as Twycross Zoo, The National Space Centre and Bradgate Country Park as well as a modern, multi-cultural City Centre offering a wide variety of day and night time activities including the brand new High Cross Shopping Centre and the Curve Theatre.
