The Infant School
Thank you for expressing an interest in Gorse Hill Infant School.
Thank you for taking the time to consider a career at Gorse Hill Infants School. Over the last 3 Years I have been extremely proud and honoured to be part of Gorse Hill Infant School and I am looking forward to the exciting future we have ahead of us.
Are you looking for an exciting and interesting teaching career in a forward thinking and dynamic environment?
Our Philosophy: Every Day’s a Learning Day.
We believe that every day is a learning a day at Gorse Hill Infants for staff, parents and pupils and we are always looking for people who are prepared to be part of our dynamics.
When I joined the school, 3 years ago I was instantly struck by the strong presence of a village community in the centre of an urban setting. The school has been part of this community for 129 years, and has seen generations of families passed through the School. Perhaps this is why the School has such a significant presence it the community it serves.
OFSTED visited us in November 2006 and declared that we are a good school with outstanding community links. For this reason we are delighted to welcome a new on-site Children’s Centre from March 2008 which will provide a seamless provision of multi-agency services for our children and the community.
Every child matters to us and every parent too. How do we achieve this?
Our curriculum is constantly evolving. We are committed to implementing innovation and making it work in practice. We focus on learning not knowledge and getting the buzz back into the classroom.
Our Classrooms are well resourced and we have worked hard to create a creative curriculum and a learning environment that reflects the needs and requirements of the 21st Century. IT provision throughout the School are excellent.
We learn from each other, we work closely in partnership with our on-site junior school and forge links with other education establishments.
Parents are seen as partners and we provide training to support them in the education of their child as well as developing their own basic skills.
Our newly developed extended schools provision (which has just been classed as good by OFSTED) supports parents with childcare beyond the school day. This year we are trialling a holiday club and we already have provision for Breakfast and after-school clubs.
We are firmly committed to continual professional development and if you want to come and work at this school be prepared to be a reflective learner as well as a spontaneous teacher.
We are looking for teachers who have;
- Excellent knowledge of the Early Years and KS1 curriculum
- A Child Centred approach to teaching
- Good working knowledge of the 6 areas of learning
- A commitment to community education and raising attainment
- A creative and spontaneous mind
- Excellent communication Skills
In return you will benefit from:
- Access to Continual professional development
- Personal laptop
- Working in a close-knit supportive environment
- Access to excellent resources and facilities
- Experience TA support
Are you ready to jump on board?
Yours Sincerely
