
Gwent Hospitals Contributory Fund is a Health Cashplan insurance business based in Newport, South Wales. The Fund has been established for many years and provides financial assistance to our members in their time of need. We presently have around 9,000 members and believe there is a great opportunity to increase our membership substantially. We pride ourselves on our efficiency of service, and as a non-profit making organisation, our members are assured of outstanding value for money.
Our members pay a monthly contribution by direct debit, cash/cheque or payroll deduction. A number of employers make contributions for their employees as part of their employment package. The amount of contribution relates to the level of plan for which the member enrolls.
Members are able to receive benefits for a variety of health related claims, including dental and optical treatments, hospital in and out patient visits, day surgery, maternity, professional medical fees, a range of therapies and home care costs. We also provide Personal Accident cover and an independent 24 hour helpline/homecall service. In the near future we will also be providing independent identity theft assistance at no extra cost to members.
We are located on Cardiff Road, Newport directly opposite the Royal Gwent Hospital (although our history is very much allied with the hospital we have no direct links other than over 900 Health Trust employees are Fund members). Cardiff Road is the main western entrance/exit road to the City Centre and is well located for access to the M4 and other main roads out of the City.
Our membership is located mainly around Newport and the area of South East Wales although a member’s location in the UK is no restriction to membership and we have members in many other parts of the country.
