Over the past two years, the Company structure and systems have changed considerably and this key appointment is a continuation of the process. It represents a real opportunity to impact directly on sales and affect the cost base of the company and have a positive effect on profitability. The person will want to be part of a small team. The products that Fusion produce are market-leading, exciting, unique, and design led. The majority of our enquiries are generated through our reputation, website and some ad-hoc marketing that we undertake. The opportunity to increase sales by developing new customers and a clear, targeted marketing strategy is a great challenge.
The individual will be an excellent communicator with superb negotiating skills. They will be robust and determined and willing to work to stringent targets. They will be motivational with strong leadership skills. They will have an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. They will have an eye for detail and be a proactive team player with a positive attitude. They will have the ability to continuously identify and highlight improvements to systems and procedures. Experience within the construction industry and particularly from an architectural/design specification angle would be an advantage. This individual will bring a good list of contacts with them. They will be able to demonstrate commercial awareness and be highly IT literate. Educated to degree level or equivalent, they will have a proven track record in sales and marketing, to director level.
This person will work closely with the management team and more specifically with the Managing Director. This is a board level position; which represents a fantastic opportunity but will require a high level of responsibility and commitment in order to achieve ambitious but realistic goals. This individual will need to develop and motivate the team to maximise potential. They will introduce a more structured sales and marketing approach and engender a clear understanding within the sales team of the roles and responsibilities they have. They will provide the team, through support and training, with the confidence levels to win the project at the right price.
Project sizes range from £1,000 to £750,000 currently although Fusion has been involved in a project of £2.4m. The Sales Director will be involved with some of the high level negotiations on larger projects although, on occasions, these negotiations can happen with low value projects due to the nature of our product and the extent of client involvement. The Company currently does a reasonable amount of business overseas. However, this business does not really arrive through targeted means. Again, a more structured approach is required and, in the longer term, the need to develop overseas partners.Fusion have offices in Clapham, South West London and Croydon
