Welcome

Falinge Park SchoolThank you for showing an interest for the post we have on offer.  I write to give you a flavour of the school that we are so proud of.

Falinge Park High School was established in 1990 after a borough wide reorganisation.  In those days families often appealed not to send their children here.  However, we set out to establish a harmonious, caring and successful school where everybody, both staff and students, come to realise their potential.

Attainment has risen from 8% A*-C in the early 1990s to over 50% in 2008.  We are one of the top 500 most improved schools nationally over the period 2005-2008.  We believe that this will rise markedly again this year.  Importantly our community is a cohesive and harmonious one,  In Sprin 2007, HMI graded this feature of our school as “outstanding”.  Behaviour is good and the rights of teachers to teach and children to learn are supported.  OFSTED graded the school as GOOD(2) in almost all areas in April 2008.

The staff has grown in line with student numbers.  Each member of teaching staff is entitled to a laptop, benefits from our commitment to their CPD: as you would expect from the first township school to get Investors in People status.

We are full and despite demographic changes to the population in Rochdale, we continue to be oversubscribed.

This is an exciting time for our school.  The vision for realising everybody’s personal best is clearly being embraced by the local community.

As a result of the school’s popularity we anticipate being able to help design a brand new building to be opened in 2012 here on our site under the Building Schools for the Future programme.  Already staff are involved in working parties to aid our thinking in designing their own workspaces.

Our staff work hard and play hard.  It is a staff where youth and vigour is appreciated alongside experience.  If you think that you might be interested in us, then please send in your Application.

We look forward to meeting with you and showing you our school that we are truly proud to belong to.

Yours faithfully,
