Curriculum Information

Key Stage 3 (7, 8, 9)

To help our students make a comfortable transition from primary school to secondary school, all Year 7 pupils follow our Foundation Curriculum.  This means they have a large part of their timetable in their own room with one teacher – enabling them to settle in and get used to life at secondary school!

Most of our teaching is to mixed ability groups but there is ability setting throughout key stages in Maths. A broad curriculum is offered throughout key stage 3 with students studying the core subjects of: Maths, English and Science as well as PE, RE, History, Geography, PHSE (including Citizenship), Design Technology, MFL, Music, Art, Drama, Dance and ICT.

We like to enhance our student’s learning by inviting guest speakers into school so they can learn about other people’s experiences.  This is further complemented but a full enrichment programme of domestic and foreign visits.

Key Stage 4 (10, 11)

At Key Stage 4 we feel that it’s important to offer a wide range of optional subjects over and above the core subjects offered at Key Stage 3. Options embrace the following:Class
