Introduction

Thank you for your interest in joining the new Core HR Function at Ealing Council. Once you have had the opportunity to study the information pack, I hope that you will be excited by our ambitious transformation plans for Ealing HR.

Over the last few years our HR function has undergone many reorganisations, none of which have delivered the type of service we desire. Following a detailed review earlier this year we have taken the decision to move to the model of a Core Strategic HR team led by myself, and an internal HR Shared Service Centre led by the Head of HR Shared Services, and based in the Business Services Directorate.

Alongside this decision we have embarked on a massive change programme with substantial investment of £1.4m going in to create and run the new HR Shared Service Centre. This enables the Core HR function to focus on strategic HR, corporate HR projects and HR Business Partnering.

This programme of work is known as “HR Fit for Business”, and is a 2-3 year change programme. For you, it means a rare opportunity to be in at the beginning of a major programme of change. You will be part of shaping the future of HR. I want to recruit exceptional HR professionals to join our team and help us ensure that we achieve Ealing’s goal of becoming one of the highest performing local authorities, with an outstanding reputation for delivering high quality, cost effective services.

Ealing has already made progress to become a 3 star council that is “improving well” but we are focussed on real measures of improvement that make a difference to the delivery of our services to our residents.
