About Me

After graduating from a Master’s degree in International Business and Management from the University of Bradford, I spent time focusing on identifying a graduate programme that offered opportunities for good career progression, working abroad, putting my language skills into use and doing something with an international focus. It was CHEP that could offer all these. What made CHEP stand out from the rest of the recruiters is the fact that the relatively new graduate program allows for greater flexibility and can be tailored to fit everyone’s needs. There is no predetermined path for graduates to follow, so a graduate can find themselves in practically any part of the business.

Working Life

I am currently finishing my first placement in the UK D Management department working in the Distributor side of the business. For the first 8 months I was field based, visiting Distribution Centres making sure we collected our equipment and acting as a liaison between them and CHEP. This gave me the chance to observe and understand how major retailers operate in their own network and gain a better insight of what happens in a warehouse. Following that I took on a secondment in the same team working as the UK D Sales Analyst. I am nowadays acting as the central support for the D Sales UK team. I control, run, format and distribute a large number of reports to the team and support the National Account Managers and European teams from the reporting or admin side of their projects.

The strength of CHEP lies in the fact that it has a full view of the Supply Chain from start to finish. We are working on a daily basis with all the major suppliers, retailers and logistics providers in the UK and CHEP’s graduate program will give you the chance to understand them better. Couple that with great opportunities for advancement and expatriation, flexibility, a friendly working environment, the company’s focus on training and development and a good benefits package and you have a graduate program worth looking into.
