Bebington High Sports College
I would like to thank you for showing an interest in Bebington High Sports College. Our main aim is to provide a ‘Quality Education for All'. To achieve this, our vision is to ensure that we have happy successful students in a pleasant and vibrant environment. I believe that we have achieved this vision through the hard work and caring attitude of all staff.
Bebington High Sports College is a co-educational all ability school which has around 1000 students on roll, with a small but rapidly growing Sixth Form. BHSC is a dynamic, innovative and student focused school where every member of the school community is determined, every day, to provide the very best experience for everyone that crosses our threshold. Although Sport is our Specialism we are also developing a very strong media arts curriculum. As a PFI school, enjoying excellent facilities, we are also the hub of the extended schools programme and are open 8.00am until 10.00pm five days a week and 8.00am until 6.00pm on Saturdays. It is our belief that our school is part of the whole community and therefore is available for the whole community.
We have high expectations of our students, which include the highest standards of dress, work ethic, punctuality, attendance and behaviour. We also believe that our students must be proud and responsible members of our community.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection in November 2006 stated that:

These statements clearly show that we deliver parental and student expectations. We care passionately for our students and will make every effort for each individual to achieve their full potential. Above all we endeavour to support our students in developing a high level of self-esteem.
Academic achievement at Key Stage 3 in the core subjects enjoys a positive CVA, Key Stage 4 achievement is in line with FFT targets and has seen an increase from 20% to 45% 5A*-C grades in the past four academic years; the Sixth Form is in line with expectation. The development of our 14-19 pathways curriculum over this academic year will result in further substantial rises in achievement.
As Headteacher I enjoy the support of a highly committed and hard-working staff. Colleagues put in time above and beyond any minimum requirement in order to drive the school forward. This has the effect of creating a positive, exciting and rewarding environment in which to work.
