Sunil Raneschandra

Sunil Raneschandra works for Costa Coffee in the
landside of Heathrow’s Terminal 2, where his main duties are to make delicious coffee and provide a great service to customers dropping in from all over the world.

Sunil is a real team player. Having worked for this very international branch of Costa for over three years, he is one of the best established members of staff there. He knows the business of running a coffee shop inside out, and is very comfortable with his customer-facing role.

Eager to progress in his career, Sunil began working towards an NVQ in June 2007 and is due to complete his training in December. He is following a level 2 Train 2 Gain NVQ in customer service and is doing really well. His work on the course has been excellent throughout; he has produced detailed case studies and learner reports and is well on target to complete his coursework soon.

During observation, his mentor has witnessed firsthand Sunil’s competence across all his duties, and this is reflected in the training units he has completed so far. Sunil is on track for good career development and his progress on the course has been excellent.

About Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are nationally designed training programmes. They offer employees the opportunity to enhance their skills through a combination of work-based learning and training.

There are two levels of Apprenticeship available:

  • Apprenticeship (Level 2)
  • Advance Apprenticeship (Level 3)

Both programmes lead to a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ), a Key Skills Qualification and in certain areas, a Technical Certificate Award.
