Rose Bacon
Rose Bacon works as a sales assistant for Fortnum and
Mason and has had a busy year in 2007. In addition to
her regular duties in sales, customer service, cashing
up, merchandising and stock ordering, Rose has just
completed her retail Train 2 Gain programme.
This is a source of great satisfaction to Rose. Having left
school at the age of 16 with no qualifications, her success
in this work-based training course is testimony to her
hard work and dedication to the job.
Rose has had a number of jobs since leaving school,
which demonstrate her flexible approach to work. She
has worked as a housekeeper and a florist, and was
employed by Harrods. During her seven years with this
top-notch department store, she rose up the ranks to
become an assistant manager and a department trainer.
Rose has always been keen to sign up to the training
that has been on offer to her during her working life.
For example, she has been trained in typing skills and
floristry as well as taking part in company training
programmes - incorporating product information, sales
skills and coaching skills.
Rose has now successfully completed her NVQ level 2
and her employers’ rights and responsibilities. She has
gained more confidence in herself and her abilities and
feels that she has vastly improved her customer service
skills in particular.
Rose has also taken a keen interest in various different
aspects of commercial legislation and broadened her knowledge of how they govern her trade.
