NCE Graduate Awards 2007
Hays Civil & Structural, which specialises in civil engineering jobs, was pleased to once again sponsor the NCE Graduate Awards. The presentation took place in late November at the Civils Exhibition held in London’s Earls Court, where Hays was the official recruitment partner.
Robert Harding wins Graduate Engineer of 2007 award
The overall winner was 24-year-old Bristol University graduate Robert Harding, now a geotechnical engineer with Arup. Robert received a £1000 cheque, a specially crafted trophy and lots of praise from a room full of industry leaders! Five other finalists, chosen from a record worldwide entry of 104, shared prize money totalling over £1750.

- Benjamin Freedman, graduate civil engineer working for Building Design Partnership

- Helene Wehrmann, structural engineer at Jacobs
- Nikolaos Socratous, structural engineer at Arup
- Jennifer Morrison, graduate engineer working at Atkins
Best overall graduate in civil engineering jobs
These prestigious awards are designed to seek out and reward the best overall previous year graduates in civil engineering jobs. The judges, all senior executives with the Award’s sponsoring companies, were looking as much for technical ability and enthusiasm as academic excellence.

The 2008 NCE Graduate Awards will be launched in Spring 2008 and will be open to all graduates who gained a civil engineering – or related – first, or follow -on postgraduate degree in 2007.
