Hays Education vetting procedures
At Hays Education, we pride ourselves on delivering the highest standards of service.
That is why we are independently audited by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and Recruitment Employment Confederation (REC) who jointly award the Quality Mark.
In addition to this, we also have an internal auditing team who ensure our high standards of service and vetting are adhered to right across the company, in all of our offices and for every individual education candidate.
Clearance procedures
As a Hays Education or Hays Early Years candidate, you will be fully vetted before you are placed into any post, whether it is on a temporary or long-term basis. Our consultants interview all teachers, teaching assistants, early years specialists and school support staff face-to-face, before carrying out the following stringent checks:
- Minimum of two written references
- CRB check in accordance with DCSF guidelines
- Overseas police check (if applicable)
- Qualification check
- Eligibility to work in the UK / visa check
- Fitness to teach declaration
- Identification check
- CV gaps / career breaks
Interview technique
Interview technique is critical to the quality of our service. All our consultants are trained to a high standard, resulting in a qualification from the Recruitment & Employment Confederation. We work hard to compile a shortlist of high quality candidates who fulfill our clients’ initial criteria and provide an excellent fit to the culture and ethos within the school.
