An experienced CAD Technician will be proficient in various software packages ie AutoCAD and Microstation. CAD jobs involve working and detailed drawings from a design brief and must therefore have good knowledge of the UK building regulations. 

Producing site surveys and running smaller projects (depending on the practice) can also form part of the remit. The demand for architectural CAD technician jobs is buoyant and salaries are keeping pace to reflect this.
