Because Internal Auditors get so much exposure to the operations of a company, they gain a thorough understanding of how the business works and build lasting relationships with high-level colleagues in most areas and are therefore in demand to move into an operational role within the business after two years.

- A strong team ethic – but equally in demand are self-motivation and resourcefulness
