USIT Blog: Which developers earn the mostA recent survey finds most developers are still targeting desktop, over cloud, mobile or other types of devices.

But where should you focus your time to maximize your earning potential?

The Developer Economics Q1 report from VisionMobile shows 50% of developers write for desktop, with 45% writing for cloud and backend services, 42% for mobile, and 19% for Internet of Things (IoT).

It also finds that cloud developers make the most, with one-third reporting they earn $25,000 a month or more.

We know specializing can be key for success in IT and development, and as more and more organizations embrace cloud computing the boom is likely to continue for a few more years.

Those developers who are still focusing on desktop aren’t behind the times, though – they reported the second highest earnings per month.
